Sports Programs

Youth Recreational Basketball

Every winter, the Park District offers a recreational youth basketball program. The League is available to boys Kindergarten – 6th grade and girls Kindergarten – 6th grade. The program utilizes EastSide Centre for grade levels 2nd – 6th grade and Armstrong School for Kindergarten & 1st grade.

Youth Recreational Soccer

In the fall, we offer outdoor soccer. This program is for boys and girls 4 years old through 6th grade. The program takes place in September to mid October. This program uses Eastside Centre for all the games. Practices are typically area schools. Games are typically held on Saturdays.

Tumbling

CLASSES OFFERED

Tumbling Tots Classes: Parents will be on the mats with their child. Designed for children ages 4 and under. Class Length = 45 minutes.

Beginners Classes: For children ages 5 and up. Class Length = 60 minutes.

Home Schooled Tumble Time Class: For children ages 5 to 12. Students will work on conditioning, strengthening exercises, and tumbling. Class Length = 90 minutes.

Back Handspring Classes: This class teaches students to become proficient in the back handspring – a must for intermediate / advance classes. Class Length = 90 minutes.

Intermediate / Advanced Classes: Students must be able to complete a round-off and 3 back handsprings before attending this class. This class works toward the competition end of tumbling. Class Length = 90 minutes.

Recreational Courts & Skate Park

Located in the Bradley A. Smith Park (400 block Springfield Rd), these outdoor courts are open at sunrise with the lights shutting off at 10:00pm. Activities that can be done include tennis, basketball, skateboard, and rollerblade hockey. No reservations are required for these courts.

Boys Youth Baseball

In East Peoria, all youth baseball programs are coordinated by an independent organization separate from the Park District called East Peoria Community Baseball. This group operates completely independent from the Park District. All youth baseball questions should be directed to members of this organization.

Girls Fast Pitch Softball

In East Peoria, all youth softball programs are coordinated by an independent organization from the Park District called East Peoria Girls Fastpitch Association (EPGFA). This group operates completely independent from the Park District. All girls fastpitch softball questions should be directed to members of this organization.

Junior Football League (JFL)

In East Peoria, all youth football programs are coordinated by an independent organization from the Park District called East Peoria JFL. This group operates completely independent from the Park District. All JFL questions should be directed to members of this organization.
